It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

I think Gallimard should read this wonderful book again. I also have a page about the Little Prince on my web site and I don't think less people will buy the book because of it.
But even if your site doen't exist any more the Little Prince will ever live!

capire.
Marko

Dispiace a tutti dover leggere certe cose.
Ciao
Alex

Messagge from Johanan Rakkav (*nolad* John Wheeler) at kdhinc[at]hotmail.com

I have loved "The Little Prince" for many years, and found your page through a link from another site on the book.

I regret that you don't seem to know either English or French very well. The publishers did not "order" you to remove your Web pages -- they "asked" you, politely and regretfully, to do so. As their other comments to you indicate, they are the heirs of the rights to publish Antoine de Saint-Expury's works, and they have their own Internet projects in progress to promote their books (including, by implication, "The Little Prince").

I do not believe that Editions Galliard has any less love for "The Little Prince" than you, or we the readers. A letter written in English to another site demonstrates this to my satisfaction. But I have found that French publishers are as a rule more jealous of their intellectual copyrights than are British or American publishers. Do not take offense at this, but rather be glad that they care enough about Mr. de Saint-Expury's work to see that it be preserved intact.

Ciao, John Wheeler [at]:-)

I had this book read to me when I was younger, I have seen the musical movie, and I read the original in french for my French class. It is a most wonderful book, one everyone should take the time to read. It gives a look into life that all should take, that of our inner child. The part of us that never leaves, just hides when we grow older. It is a book of depth and one of a childish manner all the same. This is considered by me a classic.

It's a great pity that we cannot read this great novel in its English version on line. When I was young, I read it in Chinese. The prince, the stars, the planets, and the deserts touched my heart deeply. Now, I'm in my twenties, but each time I read it, I recall many many naive, pure, and beautiful memories from my mind. "The Little Prince" tells some really important things that are often forgotten or ignored by adults. Sometimes, the happiness of children are the most real happiness in the world.

Hello Antonio,

I was searching through the web for some Little Prince quote - when I found your site. And let me tell you, that I AM AMAZED by the answers of the many different people, over the last 3-4 years since you sent those letters to Gallimard. I've read through your letters, I've read the reaction of the people, and I was really moved. And you know what? Each every person who was/will once searching for Little Prince on the net, same way as I did, will find your page, and will find honesty, integrity and friendliness - and I think THIS IS GREAT!
So friend, even if we still can't read the Little Prince online - I think YOU ALREADY MADE A DIFFERENCE for something good, and well done for that.
Hope you'll read my note and hope many others will do.

With friendship,

Hi! I can't imagine why they just sail the book insted of reading it. If they do, they will understand why there are so many people in the world that like it, and that give them so much money. "The litle Prince" isn't just a children story, is much than that, and everybody should read it, specially people that can't see further than they own pocket.

This simple story has really challenged my mind to ask what is really important in life.
It has taught me that love is an enduring feeling that lives on in your heart even when you no longer possess the thing or person you love. Like how looking at the stars can make the little prince happy because of the knowledge that his flower is up there somewhere. Like how the author can look up at the stars and smile as he thinks of his dear friend.
It has taught me not to judge others by appearances. We tend to be so concerned with outward appearances that we have failed to listen to our hearts. The important thing is what can't be seen.
The little prince has also taught me about life and death. When he went back to his planet, it was the end of his short life on Earth. His coming to Earth in the first place is like his birth. Before leaving Earth, he tells the author he can't take his body with him because it is too heavy. It would be like an old abandoned shell. This has made me

view death in an entirely different way. Indeed, there's nothing sad about an old abandoned shell. What is more important is the fact that his spirit lives on. Like when you lose someone who means a lot to you, you have to remember that death can take someone physically away from you, but death can't separate that person from you spiritually. If you really love that person, feel for that person, then his or her spirit will continue to live in your heart even after his or her death.
This is my personal interpretation of the book. I just want to share how i feel with all those who love the little prince as i do.
I hope that the innocence and wisdom of the little prince will always remain in my heart and the hearts of all those who love him.
